One of the original aims of the Quartet Collective website was to showcase the work of developing artists and increase their profile in the marketplace.
From time to time, artists will come and go, but our Alumni page allows you to still see their work and get updates on their progress.
Jasmine Impressions
With her work for Jasmine Impressions, Midlands artist Sally Pickford presents a series of bespoke Pet Portraits and greeting card designs. Sally's designs reflect her love of animals and the waterways lifestyle that she has been fortunate to enjoy.
'I feel lucky to have been able to fulfil my dream of a relaxed life on a 'live-aboard' narrow boat for part of my life. My love of the lifestyle and particularly the vibrant and beautiful wildlife and canal-side characters I encountered daily has inspired my work. I like to use bright and colourful images and also try to show the traditional nature of this way of life.
I also have a love of animals and this has helped me achieve success in completing Pet Portrait commissions of a varied range of animals. This is an area of work that I am now concentrating on and developing.'
Sally is primarily focussing on her pet portrait commission work and has built up a strong clientele base.

'I have always loved working with fabric and textile media. My drive comes from the desire to create original, hand-crafted, bespoke items that have their own character and individual appeal. Having spent my career influenced by the scientific study of the environment and landscape, I am particularly drawn to creating artefacts that show the colourful habitats and creatures that exist in our countryside. A love of colour, texture, pattern and form has led me to develop skills in needle felting and stitch-work particularly.'
Christine is currently continuing to develop her range of products, but still has a wonderful range of needle-felted creatures, felted bespoke jewellery in the form of brooches and earrings, textile pictures, bags and purses and home décor gifts.
Inspired by the countryside surrounding her Victorian cottage studio on the Oxfordshire-Northamptonshire border, Claire Mills works with textile and mixed media. Her designs often incorporate the use of recycled material, producing a range of individual hand-crafted pieces including soft furnishing, wall art and unique gifts.
'I have loved working in textile and mixed media for over 40 years, both teaching and producing my own work. Now that I am retired it is a joy to be able to use the experience gleaned from this to pursue my own creative passions more fully. Ever conscious of the increasing demands on our environment, I am particularly keen to use recycled material in my work wherever possible.'
Claire is enjoying her retirement from teaching and is still being creative, exhibiting and working on her own projects when she gets the chance.
